Silchar: Akhil Bharatiya Adhivakta Parishad (ABAP), Cachar district unit, has urged upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take steps for reinclusion of those five documents in original List A as before which have been declared inadmissible by Prateek Hajela, NRC state coordinator, Assam and consideration of all the genuine government issued documents issued prior to or after March 24, 1971, showing that the concerned individual was an original resident i.e. citizen of India or born in India before March 24, 1971, while updating the final NRC list.

The parishad through a letter addressed to Narendra Modi requested him not to shift the burden of proof of all submitted documents or papers on the applicants. The left outs, 40,07,707 in total, are already passing days in anxiety and tension. The parishad has also demanded either immediate removal of Prateek Hajela or checking him from changing his stands as per his whims and wishes. The letter, signed by advocates Anil Chandra Dey, Sushmita Purkayastha and Santanu Naik, has been sent on Monday.
