Assam CM's ‘Green Village Clean Village’ initiative might not stop people from Smoking ?

Karimganj: Although Smoking is injurious to health, one cannot imagine how far a section of people goes to fulfill their urge to smoke that too in a Chief Minister’s Flagship Programme for ‘Green Village Clean Village’ initiative.

As seen in a video footage, a section of the committee members were seen smoking cigarette desperately one after the other in Choitanna Nagar Karimganj District.

At a time when delegates from Guwahati were addressing the gathering in the event and discussing the importance of the initiative of ‘Green Village Clean Village’ on Friday, a few members of the committee were spotted smoking cigarettes.

It is to be noted that Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal’s vision ‘Clean and Green Village’ is under ‘My Gov Assam’ initiative.

It was launched at Morigaon village under Titaguri Development Block by eminent environmentalist and brand ambassador of the State Forest and Environment Department, Chandrakanta Basumatary at a function held at the North Maorigaon LP School premises.
