Badruddin Ajmal suggests Himanta Biswa Sarma to join AIUDF

Cachar: All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief Badruddin Ajmal, while campaigning for AIUDF candidates in Baskandi under Cachar district, said that Assam minister Himanta Biswa Sarma should think about joining his party AIUDF. The party chief also offered the Chief Minister’s position to Sarma in case Sarma joins his party.

Ajmal said, “Himanta Biswa Sarma should join AIUDF and we will make him Chief Minister of Assam.”

Such remarks by the AIUDF chief came followed by a host of other political remarks made by Himanta Biswa Sarma himself and ULFA chief Paresh Baruah. Notably, it was just a few days back when Sarma had said that if ULFA (I) Chief Paresh Baruah surrenders and joins mainstream then the much debated and unwanted bill in the state right now, the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 will be dropped by him and his party.

Ajmal, further added that, “He will never be the CM of Assam if he stays with BJP.” Ajmal says that as Sarma is already dreaming to be the CM of Assam by granting citizenship to Hindu Bangladeshis, there is no wrong in inviting him to join AIUDF.
