Barak Valley cuts a sorry figure as no student makes it to the top 10 merit list of HSLC Examination

Silchar: No student from Barak Valley could make it to the top 10 merit list of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Assam High Madrassa (AHM) examinations 2019, the results of which were declared on Wednesday at 9 am by the Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA). In Cachar, a total number of 18072 appeared for the examination. Out of these 18072 students, a total number of 9089 passed the examination. In Hailakandi, a total number of 6629 appeared for the examination. Out of these 6629 students, a total number of 2586 passed the examination and in Karimganj, a total number of 10223 appeared for the examination. Out of these 10223 students, a total number of 4777 passed the examination. The pass percentages of Cachar, Hailakandi and Karimganj are 50.29, 39.01 and 46.73 respectively. A total of 342691 candidates took the HSLC examination this year and 202508 candidates passed the examination with an overall pass percentage of 60.23. Last year, 56.04 was the pass percentage. Subhrajyoti Dey of Benison English School in Lakhipur subdivision secured 93%. He scored letter marks in 6 subjects.
