Binnakandie Tea Estate of Cachar Pays 20% Bonus

Silchar: Among all the tea gardens of Barak Valley, Binnakandie tea estate located at the foothills of Bhuban in Lakhipur sub division of Cachar hogged the limelight by paying bonus at the rate of 20 per cent to its workers and employees for the year 2018-19. The bonus was paid in presence of commercial manager Arun Sharma and manager M.P. Singh. Binnakandie Tea Estate is an unit of Cheviot Agro Industries Pvt Ltd. At a tripartite meeting of the management, tea workers’ union and the administration, the Deputy Commissioner of Cachar Laya Madduri laid stress on settlement of bonus payment reasonably and peacefully.

Quite happily, the bonus was distributed among the workers and employees of four divisions including their out gardens of Adarsh, Bowleah and Mahnada under security cover of police and BSF. The commercial manager visited all the divisions to oversee the payment of bonus and shared the joyous mood of the workers. He motivated them to work with a sense of commitment and dedication to achieve still better results. He also appreciated their good performance as well as concerted efforts to make the tea estate one of the best in management and labour relations.

Arun Sharma called upon the workers to provide maximum attendance for enhanced productivity by putting in hard labour which would be in the best of interest of all concerned in the tea estate. Binnakandie tea estate is one of the few gardens of Assam to pay 20% bonus to its workers and it has maintained the healthy tradition for years and hopes to keep it up. The workers have been given incentives and prizes for working for the prosperity of the garden and also in recognition of their better performance and best of cooperation with the management.
