Campaigning for Lok Sabha polls end on a high note in Silchar

Silchar: Campaigning for the second phase of Lok Sabha polls ended on a high note here on Tuesday evening. BJP and Congress candidates along with their supporters left no stone unturned to utilize the last day of campaigning. They tried to reach out to the maximum number of electorates. BJP and Congress took out a massive rally. They also walked the streets of Silchar town along with their supporters and followers. Public addresses were held at various important points and places and spots of the town. MP Sushmita Dev was accompanied by Tamal Kanti Banik among others.

The supporters of BJP too campaigned from door to door. It was definitely a high voltage campaign by both the parties. Sitting MP Sushmita Dev is contesting as a Congress candidate and Dr Rajdeep Roy as a BJP candidate. Sushmita Dev is the daughter of former union minister Sontosh Mohan Dev and Dr Rajdeep Roy is the son of former BJP MLA Bimalangshu Roy. This time, a total number of 13 candidates are contesting for the coveted and prestigious Silchar seat.
