SILCHAR, Jan 29: In its bid to promote arts and culture, the Madyasahar Sanskritik Sanstha is going to organize a ch Mela in rsingtola ground of the town on January 30. It was informed to media-persons by members of the cultural organization in a press meet held on Thursday. Ajoy Chakroborty, general secretary, said the main objective behind the initiative is to promote arts and culture. Barak Valley which is inhabited by different communities has a rich cultural legacy. The intention is to bring the different communities together on the same platform to spread the message of love, peace and brotherhood.
The participants will be divided in different age groups. Around 30 teams have already confirmed their participation in the event. The participating groups will be given 10 minutes each to showcase their skills on the programme. The event will be iugurated by Subimal Bhattacharjee, former president of Srihatta Sanmilani, New Delhi. Besides, Sushmita Dev, MP Silchar, will also visit the fair. Others who spoke in the press-meet include Dr. Priyabrata ndi, vice president Ankit Chakroborty, cultural secretary, Abhijeet Mazumder, assistant general secretary, and, Arka Shah, sports secretary, of Madyasahar Sanskritik Sanstha.
