CITU condemns Centre’s decision to close down paper mills

Silchar, July 8: Centre of Indian Trade Unions, Cachar-Hailakandi district committee, has strongly condemned the decision to close down the two paper mills, one at Paanchgram and the other at Nagaon. CITU general secretary Supriya Bhattacharjee at a recently issued press-release has stated that this act on the part of Central government reflects the shameless betrayal of Narendra Modi as Prime Minister. This act also reflects the dubious role of State and central ministers, who continuously assured that the government has definite plan to revive the mills.

CITU has also condemned the leaders of ruling party who continuously mislead the workers and people in general with their vague assurances. CITU has strongly demanded immediate withdrawal of such anti people decision and implementation of positive steps to revive this public sector industry. This act of BJP led Central government will lead to disastrous conditions on the life of people of entire region. CITU has called upon the people in general to rise on the occasion and protest against this anti worker and anti people government.
