Silchar: Chotto Prochesta, a Silchar based NGO have been selecting remote, isolated and poor villages for distribution of blankets, clothes, fruits or food items.

The NGO selected remote areas of Alenpur village and Upartilla in Nayabeel GP and Barjhalenga GP respectively for distributing saris among poor, distressed, helpless, deprived and downtrodden women villagers.

A total number of 441 saris were distributed by around 80 members of the NGO recently. It is pertinent to mention here that the NGO has never collected or raised funds for their noble acts and deeds. Each member of the NGO contributes a certain amount of money every month towards it.

Saris were distributed among them at Mohanlal ME School at Nayabeel and later at Barjhalenga point. Rajesh Shuvra Bhattacharjee, the coordinator of the NGO, put forth the various activities and initiatives of the NGO. Bikramjit Chakraborty, an advisor of the NGO, urged upon all to help, assist and cooperate with the NGO in its noble deeds and endeavors.

Chinmoy Nath said he was not only overwhelmed but also overjoyed to be a part of this distribution ceremony. He praised Rajib Choudhury for continuing the sublime acts of the NGO. The decision of the NGO to bring smiles to the faces of these poor and helpless villagers was sublime and uplifting.

Last winter also Chotto Prochesta distributed blankets among a large number of villagers. Raja Dutta, principal of the School, highly appreciated the efforts of the NGO and praised it a lot. Rajib Choudhury, an advisor of the NGO, expressed his content and happiness which he derives after serving the poor and the helpless. He said such acts are the ways of the NGO to celebrate Durga Puja.
