CRPCC, through a memorandum addressed to Prateek Hajela, NRC state coordinator, has also requested him to advise all the Deputy Commissioners/DRCRs of the state to instruct the LRCRs in their respective districts to receive claim applications with whatever documents the applicants attach it without raising any alibi and going to the extent of non receipt of the applications. CRPCC is of the opinion that Muslim marriages which are conducted by non government Kazis should be accepted and revalidated. The non government Kazis are bound to conduct the marriages owing to the shortage of government Kazis.
Other demands include cancellation of the proposal of re verification of NRC draft list, stopping filing objection applications on large scale against people, whose name is already there in the draft list, stopping harassment of people in the NSKs by the NSK officials and publicizing and encouraging the excluded people for submission of claims. The memorandum, signed by Dr Tapodhir Bhattacharjee, Sadhan Purkayastha, Hilaluddin Laskar, Sanat Kairi, Shehabuddin Ahmed, Dr M Shanti Kumar Singh, Subrata Nath, Kishore Kumar Bhattacharjee, Arunangshu Bhattacharjee, Nekib Hussain Choudhury, has been submitted to the Deputy Commissioner of Cachar here today.
