DC Keerthi Jalli Reviews Schemes, Projects; Sets Deadlines For Completion of Unfinished Work

Hailakandi: Deputy Commissioner, Keerthi Jalli reviewed the schemes and projects of various departments on Wednesday. Reviewing the status of progress of various welfare oriented schemes and development projects in the meeting of District Development Committee (DDC) at her office conference hall, DC, Jalli urged the heads of PWD (State Roads), PWD (NH) and PWD (Rural Roads) to expedite the construction of the unfinished stretches, including Dholcherra-Belaipur road, Katlicherra bypass and Dholeswari portion to ease movement of passengers and goods.

Jalli directed the heads of concerned departments, including PWD (Building) to complete the unfinished work where construction has been over 80 to 90 per cent. The Deputy Commissioner set deadlines for completion of some of the work under PWD (State Roads, Rural Roads and NH) and PHE departments. Instructions were passed to complete all the schemes by December and not carry forward to the next year and to make the most of this working season.

The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the progress of Agriculture, Health, Irrigation, Industry, Veterinary, Handloom and Textiles, Fisheries, Legal Metrology etc. Some of the heads of major departments pointed out that the progress of construction work has been slow due to the rainy season but exuded optimism that they would be completed in the coming working season. The DDC meeting was attended, among others, by DDC, Madhumita Choudhury and Additional Deputy Commissioner, EL Faihraem.
