District Development Committee reviews progress of different projects, Hailakandi

Hailakandi: Repairing of roads within the Hailakandi municipal areas have been completed before the Durga Puja deadline and the roads outside will be done shortly.

Executive Engineer, PWD (Rural Roads) informed that the department has completed the repairing of roads within the Hailakandi municipal areas before the deadline of October 10 and the remaining work would be completed before the ensuing Durga Puja festivity.

The Executive Engineer disclosed this in course of the review meeting of the District Development Committee (DDC) held under the Chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Ruth Lienthang at Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall here on Saturday.

The progress of construction of Katlicherra bypass and Dholeswari bypass was also reviewed. Executive Engineer, PWD (NH) revealed that 71% of Dholeswari bypass has been completed and revised estimate for Katlicherra bypass has been already sent to Dispur.

ADC Lienthang directed the officials to complete the construction work of Varuncherra road before the Durga Puja.

Officials of PWD (Buildings) informed that construction of 70% of Lala Circle Office and 90% of Algapur Circle Office have been completed. Construction of 100-seated Jamira High School girls’ hostel has been completed and electrification work is on.

Superintendent of Taxes revealed that a little over Rs.12.92 crore revenue has been generated till last September.

Legal Meterology officials informed that cases have been registered against two petrol pumps. ADC Lienthang directed the officials to carry out inspection of the petrol pumps after the Durga Puja celebrations.

Lienthang asked the executing agencies to complete the unfinished work at the earliest and to submit a detailed report to the Deputy Commissioner.

ADC EL Fairheim and heads of development departments were present in the monthly review meeting.
