Hailakandi: To address the woes of Hailakandi citizens stranded in different parts of Assam who want to come back, the district administration has set up the District Emergency Operation Centre to facilitate the process smoothly.
Disclosing this on Thursday, Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli said e-passes for inter-district travel would be issued only for the next three days from Saturday to Monday. The district administration have also given three contact numbers viz., 6026824232 /9401442632 /7002904530 for any travel-related query.
It further said those in need of vehicle support may call on 104 and those who have their own vehicle can apply for e-pass by logging hailakandi.gov.in. Sources said that the administration is exploring an alternative route through Haflong as there is restriction on movement of vehicles other than those in essential and emergency services through the Assam-Meghalaya inter-state border in view of the lockdown.
