Five attendees of Athgaon Kabarastan Masjid congregation in Hailakandi test negative

Hailakandi: Five attendees of Athgaon Kabarastan Masjid congregation from Hailakandi tested negative. Disclosing this, Joint Director of Health Services, Dr. Ramesh Chandra Dwivedy said of the 10 swab samples of Athgaon Kabarastan Masjid congregation attendees sent to the Silchar Medical College and Hospital, results of five turned out negative while the other five are awaited.

He also informed that all the six members of the COVID-19 victim, including that of his married daughter have tested negative. “It’s a great sigh of relief for everyone,” said Dr. Dwivedy. All the members of the COVID-19 victim are under quarantine at an institutional quarantine centre.

The health authorities here after holding discussions with the district administration and the state health department would decide whether to release the 493 number of persons who have already completed the 28 days home quarantine period. The number of persons under home quarantine is 1,604 with six more quarantined on Wednesday. Of the 125 swab samples, 117 tested negative. Six swab results turned out to be negative on Wednesday. One died of coronavirus.
