Hailakandi: A meeting of the district administration and Childline 1098 was held to give final shape to the constitution of Childline Advisory Board for Hailakandi district. Chairing the meeting at the DC’s conference hall on Friday, District Development Commissioner Madhumita Chaudhuri said the administration will provide the necessary logistic support to make Hailakandi a child-friendly district. She also instructed the heads of concerned departments to extend all possible help and support to Childline.
Chaudhuri asked the police and nazarat branch to provide vehicle whenever required for carrying out rescue operation, especially during night. Centre Coordinator, Childline, Saurav Nath disclosed that 88 numbers of child related cases, including child labour, child marriage, sexual abuse and child trafficking have been reported in the past six months. Nath said Childline with help from line departments has been making all out efforts to come to the rescue of the distressed children. He further said that meetings have been organized in schools to create awareness on child related issues. A power point presentation was made highlighting the activities of Childline, Hailakandi.
