Head of the Department of Commerce, Assam University Prof. Pranay Jyoti Goswami passes away

Silchar: The head of the Department of Commerce, Assam University, Silchar, Prof. Pranay Jyoti Goswami, passed away on Monday early morning here. It was at around 3 am when he suffered a massive cardiac arrest. He was immediately rushed to a private nursing home where he was declared dead by the doctors at around 3.15 am. Prof. Pranay Jyoti Goswami served as a teacher at a high school.

Then he became a lecturer in the Department of Commerce, Gurucharan College, Silchar. Later, he joined the prestigious Assam University. He had specialization in Marketing, Applied Economics, Banking, Statistics and Entrepreneurship. His works and papers have been published at numerous journals of repute. He was known for his simplicity and soft-spoken nature. The entire Assam University fraternity has mourned the sad demise of Prof. Pranay Jyoti Goswami.
