Health Camp For Flood Victims At Indo-Bangla Border Organized

Silchar: Barak Valley faced an outrage situation which was caused by massive flood due to heavy rain. It has affected the three districts of Barak Valley where innumerable people got victimized; lots of people lost their homes, property, fields etc. It has also affected many children and infants; they got vulnerable to different kind of health diseases. The commoners’ organisation has arranged health camp for the flood victims of Deupur area of Karimganj adjoining the Indo-Bangla border, as there is huge vulnerability of post flood diseases in the flood affected community. The camp was organised on Sunday with an aim to cater to the basic health needs of the flood victims. The camp was presided over by president of the commoners’ Dr. Rohan Biswas.

Dr. Suhel Ahmed Mazumder of Silchar Medical College and Hospital also carried out the health check-up camp. The health camp provided medical care and free medicines to the patients. Members of the organisation who conducted the programme included Monoshwita Bhattacharjee, Swagata Das and Arpita Nath among others. The programme was attended by organisation assistant general secretary Bishal Nath, Dhriti Das among others. Dr. Rohan Biswas expressed his sincere concern towards the disastrous situation, and assured them of further help. The medical team opined that most of the patients were suffering from febrile illness, respiratory infections, with skin diseases at the top.
