Illegal liquor seized

Silchar, June 27: Recently a team of Lakhipur Excise department led by Reshab Borgohain, ACS, busted a racket related to selling of illegal liquor in two hotels situated at Digar Fulertal near NH 37. The team, upon receiving the information form reliable sources, went to the hotels and seized both foreign and local made liquor bottles. They also arrested Shyam Kumar Singha (36) and Sandeep Das (31) and produced before the sub divisional judicial magistrate court, Lakhipur which sent them to Silchar Central Jail. Such operations are going on in full swing in the entire Lakhipur sub division.
