Independence Day Preparations in Full Swing in Lakhipur at Silchar

Silchar: The civil and police administration of Lakhipur sub division is all set to observe the 72nd Independence Day. Security has been beefed up in the entire sub division.

37 Assam Rifles, 13 Bn BSF (Tanot Warrior), 63 Bn SSB, Lakhipur police and VDP have been actively patrolling the entire sub division. Lakhipur police led by SDPO Gaurav Kumar Aggarwal and Inspector Anwar Hussain Choudhury, officer in-charge, and VDP under the supervision of deputy advisor Rajen Goala and CO VDO Pijush Palit are leaving no stones unturned in ensuring safety and security in the sub division.

People have been asked to report to the nearest police station if they find any unclaimed object or suspicious person loitering. VDPs have been directed to keep an eye on bridge, culvert and other places of public gathering. On August 15, the National Flag will be hoisted by ADC J R Lalsim, in-charge, SDO (Civil) Lakhipur, at Lakhipur Earle Higher Secondary School playground at 9 am.
