Man Dies in Road Mishap While Returning From Shop At Binnakandi

Silchar: A man from Lakhipur subdivision, Sujit Dutta (45), lost his life in a road accident while returning from his shop at Binnakandi Part - I. He was a resident of Harinagar. Since a long period of time, he was staying in a rented house at Durgapally area of Lakhipur along with his wife and two children. On his way at Nayagram, he lost control when he saw two persons crossing the road.

He hit one person and himself fell down from his motorbike. Though people of the locality gathered at once but none came forward to rescue him on fear of legal intricacies. They informed the police, who reached the spot after half an hour. He was then sent to Silchar Medical College and Hospital but he died on the way. His body was sent for an autopsy and later sent to his house at Harinagar from performing his last rituals. His motorcycle is at Lakhipur police station. The case was dealt by Inspector Anwar Hussain Choudhury, officer-in-charge of Lakhipur police station.
