Meeting on NRC and Cachar paper mill held in Silchar

Silchar: Members of Katigorah Development Committee (KDC) have urged upon the government to rake concrete steps regarding the revival of Cachar Paper Mill at Paanchgram.

The members at a meeting held here recently spoke at length about the issues and concerns of the employees of the paper mill and their families. The fate of around 30 to 32 thousand families is hanging in balance.

Nabendu Shekhar Nath, president, Katigorah Development Committee, said that it is disturbing to note that such a huge industry is going waste. He also addressed the issues and concerns of the people who have been left out of the second draft NRC list. He urged upon the government to look after the matter so that no genuine citizens are left out of the list.
