NGO distributes TLM kits among differently-abled trainees

Silchar, June 11: The Governing Body Kalpataru Institute of Entrepreneurship (GBKIE) of Silchar distributed teaching and learning material (TLM) kits to the mentally challenged children between the age of 4 and 18 years last Saturday. The teaching aids and materials were sponsored by National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities (NIEPMD). Along with that certificates were distributed among the successful trainees. It was followed by training on desktop publishing (DTP) and Tally conducted by the NGO under the scheme of “national certificate of modular employable skill” of national council for vocational training, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India. The all important function was organized on the occasion of legal service camp held on Saturday last in the Assam University campus. On this occasion were present Justice Ranjan Gogai, Supreme Court of India, Ajit Singh, Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court, Justice Suman Shyam, Gauhati High Court.

Also present were S S Minakshi Sundaram, Secretary and Director, Social Welfare Department, DC Cachar, DSWO Cachar, SP Cachar as well as other distinguished personalities. S S Minakshi Sundaram distributed the TLM kits to physically challenged trainees and certificates of skill to the successful among them. He also addressed all the beneficiaries and the assembly of citizens present. The president of the NGO Anshuman Bhattacharjee felicitated the Justice Ranjan Gogoi. Anup Dutta, Mayank Shekar Divgyang, Bulti Das, Priyanka Paul, Sabuj Dhar, Ajit Deb and other members of the NGO ably conducted the proceedings of the function.
