Parimal Suklabaidya Stresses on Corruption-Free Administration

Silchar: Parimal Suklabaidya, Minister for Forests, Fisheries and Excise, Government of Assam, hoisted the Tricolour at 9 am on the occasion of the 70th Republic Day at Silchar Police Parade ground on Saturday. Addressing as the chief guest on the auspicious occasion, Parimal Suklabaidya put forth various schemes, plans, programmes, policies, initiatives, steps and measures undertaken both by the Centre and the State regarding the development and uplift of farmers and weaker sections of people. He also stressed on the government’s initiatives focused on the development and modernization of communication and transport facilities.

The minister also stressed on the need and importance of implementing Clause 6 of Assam Accord. He also said that a fair and correct draft NRC list has been published. “Assam is in no way lagging behind other states of the country. Many development schemes, plans and programmes are being formulated and implemented. Distribution of various cards to the farmers and provision of facilities to the beneficiaries are on the rise. Chief Minister of Assam is very keen to develop the State. Khilonjiyas need not worry as they will not be deprived of. However, no accommodation will be provided here to the illegal migrants,” he added to say. He stressed on the importance of a corruption-free administration.

He also said that Rs.10 crore will be sanctioned for the development of Bhuban Hills as an attractive tourist spot. “Plans are there for setting up a terminal at Silchar airport. 1 lakh unemployed youths are being trained to hone their skills. Rs.200 crore for development of Silchar, flyover and mini Secretariat are in the pipeline,” he added to say. The hoisting of the Flag was followed by a combined parade of CRPF, Assam police battalion, district police, traffic police, home guards and NCC scouts and guides. Exhibition of tableau of different departments and cultural programme by various groups were also held at the ground. Later, fruits and sweetmeats were distributed among the various patients of hospitals and nursing homes of this town. A series of colourful cultural events were also organized.
