Peace Committee Meeting Convened in Hailakandi

Hailakandi: In view of the killings of innocent people by extremists in Tinsukia district on Thursday, the Hailakandi district administration convened a meeting of the District Level Peace Committee on Friday.

Presiding over the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Adil Khan while strongly condemning the dastardly killings perpetrated by extremists in Tinsukia district, appealed to all to raise their voice in unison against the cult of violence. Khan said the saner elements of society must register their protests against such cowardly and dastardly acts carried out on innocent people by extremist elements.

The Deputy Commissioner said violence is alien to our society and has no place in the democratic polity of the nation. Khan urged all sections of people to be on alert to foil the sinister designs of the anti-national elements hell-bent on driving a wedge in the society.

Superintendent of Police, Mohneesh Mishra, District Development Commissioner, FR Laskar, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Amalendu Roy, prominent citizens, social activists, public representatives, and others highly condemned the heinous act and appealed to all to maintain peace and tranquility in society.
