Rajen Goala appointed  Village Defence Party (VDP) deputy advisor

Silchar, July 14: Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi has recently appointed Rajen Goala the deputy advisor to the Village Defence Party (VDP) in Lakhipur sub division. Rajen Goala who comes from Pailapool will be the in-charge of Jirighat, Joypur, Lakhipur and Banskandi. He will direct the formation of VDPs in those villages which need one. Inactive and incompetent workers and personnel would be terminated from their service. Efforts will be given to strengthen the working of the VDPs. After joining as the deputy advisor, Rajen Goala organized his maiden meeting at Lakhipur police station which was attended by all VDP secretaries of Lakhipur police station area.

They discussed issues related to NRC and post draft publication of the list. They urged upon people not to panic or fear and said that ample time would be allotted to those whose names are left out from the list. Among others who spoke on the occasion included senior BJP leader Rina Singh, BJP leader Sanjay Kumar Thakur, former deputy advisor, VDP, Haji Hayyad Ali, VDP secretary Ghurni Singh, NYC regional head Amit Das, Babul Goswami, Pijush Palit and Matabul Haque Laskar.
