Rallies on World AIDS Day and IMI-2.0 in Hailakandi

Hailakandi: Rallies will be brought out on the World Aids Day and Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IMI)-2.0 by the health authorities here on December 1. Joint Director, Health Services, Dr.Abed Rasul Mazumder disclosed that two rallies would be organised on Sunday coinciding with the World Aids Day which falls on December 1 and IMI-2.0 which commences from December 3.

The World AIDS Day rally will be flagged off from the Office of the Joint Director, Health Services and will culminate at the SK Roy Civil Hospital. The IMI-2.0 rally will begin from the hospital campus to the Office of the Joint Director, Health Services. The health authorities are planning to hold awareness meetings on AIDS and IMI-2.0 to sensitise the people and various stakeholders.

Meanwhile, the health officials and functionaries have geared up to conduct IMI-2.0 beginning from December 3. Four rounds will be held in four development blocks and also in PP Centre, Urban covering 82 villages from December 2019 to March 2020.

District Immunisation Officer, Dr.K Thambalsana Rongmei said the left out and drop out children in the age group of 0-2 years and pregnant women will be vaccinated under the IMI-2.0. Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli in a meeting held at her office conference hall on Monday with the health officials and functionaries to review the preparedness of IMI-2.0 asked them to ensure not a single child or woman is left out in course of the vaccination campaign.
