Silchar: At a time when the entire nation is heading towards development, there are reports from the Reang village in Barak Valley Hills of Maniakhal area under Dholai Constituency where people are reported to have been remained deprived of the facilities and schemes since the independence of the country.

As per a report, locals in the region had alleged that the Government both the central and state had failed to provide them with the basic necessities which include proper education system, transport system, electricity facilities, health facilities, water treatment plants etc..

Few of them also alleged that the public representative mainly the MLAs also failed to live up to the expectation of the people in the region.

Slamming the Government of Assam and Dholai MLA and Excise Minister Parimal Suklabaidhya, at least 3000 Reang community people of Moniyarkhal JP Hathikhal village gathered at the Chekarsam market demanding their rights and justice on Friday morning.

They also lashed out against the present BJP Government and previous Congress-led Government for the crisis and held them responsible for their present conditions.
