Silchar: A review meeting was held on Wednesday at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner of Cachar Laya Madduri, Deputy Commissioner of Cachar. The meeting was attended by Dr. S.J. Das, joint director of health services, Cachar, Rahul Ghose, DPM, NHM, Suman Choudhury, DME, NHM, SDM and HOs in-charges of BPHC, in-charge Urban FW Unit. Deputy Commissioner has taken a stock of the health service delivery in the hospital. She has expressed concern over the cleanliness of hospitals. She has emphasized that Bio Medical Waste Management Protocol should be strictly adhered to. Infection Control Measures to be given priority by the hospital in-charges.

Re-orientation of all health workers including cleaning staff of each of the hospital on Bio Medical Waste Management should be within May 17. Deputy Commissioner has also expressed that the doctors and paramedical staff should remain present in the hospital as per the roaster. Any absence or negligence should strictly be dealt with. Medical Representatives should not be allowed to enter hospital for their professional purposes during the hospital hours. She has also instructed the hospital in-charges to strengthen the in-house laboratory services. The patients should get the minimum assured services in the hospital. She has informed that she will undertake Kayakalp assessment of all the hospitals to assess the cleanliness and standard of service in the hospital very shortly.
