Rs 8 crore worth Myanmar-made Yaba tablets seized by Cachar police and BSF

Silchar: Cachar police and BSF in a joint operation conducted on Wednesday night apprehended two drug smugglers. They were in possession of a huge cache of Myanmar-made Yaba tablets. Acting on specific information, staff of Supervisory ā€˜Gā€™ team, M and Cachar Frontier, TPS of 134 Bn BSF and local people police conducted a special operation at New City Lounge at Kathal point, Silchar. A total number of 1,60,000 Yaba tablets worth Rs 8 crore were seized by the team. The two culprits along with two vehicles have been detained by the police and kept in the custody of Rangirkhari police. The two culprits are Biplab Deb and Shahjalal Miyan. The whole operation was led by DIG J C Nayak.
