School level quiz organized to create awareness regarding voting by Cachar district administration

Silchar: In a bid to generate electoral awareness among the masses and also to enthuse them about voting, Cachar district administration organized a school level quiz context on Saturday. Around 10 schools and colleges of the district took part in the quiz contest. Debanjan Mukherjee, head master of Netaji School Silchar, West College, T T College and Silchar Poly Technic bagged first, second and third prize respectively. ADC Lolita Rongpipi gave away the prizes to the winners of the quiz contest. Medals were given to fourth and fifth spot winners. Also, extempore speech contest on the electoral awareness was held and winners were given pens as prizes.

Further, an open quiz contest was held and winners were given pens to encourage better participation. Regarding ‘flash mob’ an awareness programme was also held at Goldighi Municipal Mall as a part of systematic voters’ education and electoral participation in connection with forthcoming parliamentary elections. AWAAZ a local cultural organization also took part in the said programme. Mridul Jadav, IAS, gave introductory speech and appealed to the youths who turned 18 years of age this year to cast their valuable votes in their respective centres. Nabanita Hazarika, Assistant Commissioner, K. Changsen, Assistant commissioner among others were also present.
