Section 144 Promulgated In Hailakandi District

Hailakandi: Apprehending breach of peace and tranquility, the Hailakandi district administration has been clamped Section 144 in the entire district in view of the impending parliamentary elections on April 18. In an order issued to this effect on Monday, District Magistrate, Keerthi Jalli said that Section 144 CrPc has been promulgated in the entire district in view of reports and happenings that there is every likelihood of disturbance in connection with ensuing parliamentary elections. The order that comes into force from 5 pm on Tuesday will continue till April 19.
