Sense of being a voter through awareness

Silchar: On this National Voters’ Day, a sense of enthusiasm has been seen in different parts of the town, may be in the rural areas, where some NGOs on their own have taken the initiative to arrange for a run with kids with national flags afloat on their little hands.

The objective is twin, first to infuse in them and through them to general populace, particularly youths, not to miss to vote in the coming Parliamentary elections, secondly to convey the message of the Republic Day. It is on the day of January 26, 1950 that the Constitution of India was adopted, declaring the country as democratic, socialist and committed to the basic principles of equality and fraternity.
