Silchar: FIR lodged against political leaders

Silchar: In a shocking and uncalled for development, an organization which is known as the Barak Valley Zonal Committee of United Front of Former ULFA lodged an FIR at Silchar Sadar police station on Monday against 7 political leaders for provocative and instigating comments and statements.

Members of the organization accused them of ‘hate speech’ which ultimately led to the inhuman Dhola massacre on Thursday night. The seven political leaders include Sushmita Dev, MP, Shiladitya Dev, MLA, Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha, MLA, Karimganj, Pradip Dutta Roy founder, ACKSHA, Rajen Gohain, Union Minister of State for Railways, Siddeque Ahmed, former minister and Chandan Sarkar, a former minister.

The FIR was lodged by the general secretary of the organization, Anamul Hoque Laskar. All of them have been charged with being in criminal conspiracy and causing disharmony by hate speech under section 120 (b) and 153 of Indian Penal Code.
