Silchar: Sky is the limit for star theatre personality Santanu Paul who is the director of Bhabikal Theatre Group, Silchar. He was honoured as an invitee at Spazio Seme, International Artistic Centre, Italy, for a symposium and cultural exchange programme. Eminent directors and actors from all over the world took part in it. He was one among the eight directors of India who had been invited to take part in the prestigious workshop. It is worth mentioning here that the members of New Rising Group and Barak Valley Artists Forum have felicitated Santanu Paul for his participation at the prestigious theatre symposium.
Talking to The Sentinel he said, “The invitation was the reward for the 35 years which I have spent in the world of plays, dramas and theatres. Spazio Seme is an international cultural and arts centre in Arezzo (Tuscany) that organizes and hosts several activities, classes and workshops (for children and adults), shows, concerts and exhibitions.
It is a place where different artistic expressions can meet and intertwine, beyond language barriers and differences. The experience was enlightening and overwhelming. Though 12 days are not enough yet I got to learn many new concepts and theories. Dramatists and theatre directors from Russia, Denmark and Brazil participated in it. It was an unforgettable experience of my life.”
