Silchar: Chondoneer, a socio-cultural organization, felicitated Sudhangshu Shekhar Dey Purkayastha, former teacher, Narsingh Higher Secondary School, Silchar, for his outstanding contributions.

He, a resident of Shiv Bari road of this town, was a Mathematics teacher known for his simplicity, gentility and sheer genius. They handed over a citation and uttariya to him. Among others present on the occasion included Bhaskar Das, Partha Seal, Kishore Choudhury, Sushanta Chakraborty and Subir Gupta.
