Thieves in Police Dragnet

Silchar: Based on an information and FIR lodged by Subrata Kumar Bhattacharjee at Silchar police station vide case no 2763/18 under section 380 of the Indian Penal Code recently regarding missing gold ornaments and cash from his almirah, officer-in-charge of Silchar police station arrested Dipon Roy, a mason who was working in the complainant’s building construction at second floor. Upon pursuing the accused, the team came to know that he has already fled from his rented house at Rongpur.

Acting on a tip-off, the team upon Dipon Roy’s apprehension and interrogation recovered one gold necklace weighing 14 grams. Police also came to know that another goldsmith, Alok Dutta, is also involved in it and he possessed another gold necklace weighing 33 grams. Both of them has been apprehended and produced before the court on Wednesday.
