Silchar: Three persons, Santosh Ghatwar (31), member of Bagan Panchayat, Sukhmohan Tantobey and Santosh Nayak (34) have been arrested by police in the case of the cold minded murder of the manager of Lalang division tea estate, Sandeep Singh Tanwar.

The police team immediately reached the spot and the dead body was sent for post mortem. From their possession, one mobile phone of the deceased, one pair of slippers, one motor cycle and one blood stained stone were seized.

Accordingly, an FIR No. 225/18 u/s 302 IPC was registered under Lakhipur police station. During preliminary investigation, it was learnt that Santosh Ghatwar, had threatened the deceased some six months back. The Chief Minister of Assam has expressed his concern in this case and directed the police to take immediate action and ensure the culprits are nabbed at the earliest. They have been put into remand for 96 hours. After post mortem, the body of the deceased was sent to his native place in Haryana.
