According to officials on Sunday, the Border Security Force (BSF) stopped many smuggling attempts on India- Bangladesh border in Tripura, apprehending five livestock smugglers and confiscating illegal items, including cell phones and foreign products valued at more than
Rs 20 lakhs. Twelve animals were rescued from the hands of five cattle traffickers by BSF personnel at Border Outpost (BOP) Dholakcheri in the South Tripura district during a significant operation.
The BSF verified that all of the accused lived in the districts of Gomati and South Tripura. In a different operation, 47 brand-new cell phones valued at almost Rs 10 lakh were confiscated by BSF
officers from BOP Nirbhoypur in the West Tripura district. When criminals tried to toss the shipment over the border barrier into Bangladesh, it was seized. The smuggling effort was stopped by the BSF's prompt action, which also secured the valuable items before they could reach the international borders.
