IMD Predicts Rainfall Across Assam And Other Northeastern States From Feb 24-26

GUWAHATI: It seems like the upcoming days will bring more cold for the people in the northeastern states of India as according to IMD forecast scattered to fairly widespread rainfall will be seen in the northeast by this week starting from tomorrow.

On Wednesday 23 February, the IMD (Indian Meteorological Department) has issued a notification about the weather forecast in upcoming days through which the department has informed about rainfall in the northeast.

The Indian Meteorological Department has recently forecasted that Assam and other northeastern states will experience scattered to fairly widespread rainfall in the upcoming three days of the current week.

According to IMD prediction, the coming three days when the northeast will see rainfall are Thursday 24 February, Friday 25 February and Saturday 26 February.

Apart from Assam other northeastern states that will receive scattered to fairly widespread rainfall by the end of this week are Tripura, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Nagaland and Manipur.

In addition, the IMD also predicted that thunderstorms are likely over the northeastern region on Friday 25 February as informed by the notification issued by the department on Wednesday.

The reason for the rainfall from tomorrow i.e. Thursday to Saturday in the aforementioned regions is regarded as approaching western disturbances that affected weather in central and north India.

Moreover, the IMD weather forecast also suggests that on Thursday 24 February and Friday 25 February, the states such as Odisha, Bihar, Sikkim, Jharkhand and West Bengal will experience isolated to scattered moderate rainfall along with thunderstorm and lightning activity.

As per IMD weather prediction isolated light rainfall is expected to continue over the regions of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karaikal and Puducherry in the upcoming days of the week.
