GUWAHATI: In a major breakthrough in military operations, the Indian Army's Trishakti Corps for the first time successfully demonstrated the Manned-Unmanned Teaming (MUM-T) capability in Exercise SARVSHAKTI. The exercise in the Northeast was a landmark achievement in the Army's sustained effort to modernize its operational framework.

The exercise demonstrated the successful integration of manned platforms with unmanned systems, underscoring the significance of this capability in building towards Multi-Domain Operations (MDO). The validation of MUM-T emphasizes the Army's dedication to embracing and implementing cutting-edge technologies to improve its combat readiness.

Exercise SARVSHAKTI focused on improving interoperability, expediting decision-making processes, and increasing battlefield awareness through the use of drones, autonomous systems, and artificial intelligence-enabled platforms. The successful demonstration of human-machine collaboration in a live tactical environment sets a new standard for technology-driven warfare.

Lt Gen Zubin A Minwalla, General Officer Commanding of Trishakti Corps, commented on the importance of the exercise saying it is a milestone towards adapting to the changing face of warfare.

Few of the key outcomes of the exercise were the successful field trials of MUM-T for real-time reconnaissance, surveillance, and target acquisition and integration of unmanned systems with traditional combat platforms. The initiative is one of the broader initiatives for modernizing the Indian Army under the Atmanirbhar Bharat program, with an emphasis on innovation and indigenization to address new security threats across all domains.
