Indian Navy - Sea Riders To Start Their Expedition In Seven States Of Northeast

GUWAHATI : The Sea Riders- Indian Navy Motor Bike team, is all set to embark on a motorcycle journey across 7 states of Northeast India, to celebrate the 75th year of independence of the country. It is a part of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' celebration. 

As per a statement, the expedition will gear up from 25th of November, Friday from Guwahati. Admiral R. Harikumar, the Chief of the Naval Staff will flag off the journey through a video conference. There are a total of 31 riders including 2 women officers in the Sea Riders team. They have planned to cover a distance of 3500 km in 24 days.

The expedition will cover some of the most terrific and astonishing terrains of Northeast India. The navy riders are going to ride all over the state and explore some amazing spots. Sea Riders will cover the Indo- Bangladesh border, they will also visit the historical Unakoti sculptures and Keibul Lamjao National Park. This particular park is the only floating park in the entire world, and the famous hornbill festival is also celebrated in this place.

Guwahati, Shillong, Aizawl, Imphal and Kohima has been the selected locations for the expedition. The riders will ride through the high altitude Sela and Bum La Passes. The team will visit schools during their expedition, in order to interact with the students.

The motive behind this step is make the children aware and elaborate about the Indian Navy as well as the necessity of adventure. This unusual collaboration aims to encourage and motivate the youth to be brave and join the Armed Forces of India.

On 15th of December the expedition will end in Guwahati. The navy team is in partnership with Royal Enfield this time for the expedition. This is not the first time, Indian Navy has carried out an adventure for themselves, they often get indulge in such activities whenever time allows them to.
