GUWAHATI: Assam registered fourth consecutive victories in the Mens U-25 State 'A' One Day Trophy Championship at the ACA stadium, Barsapara here today. The hosts beat Meghalaya by 7 wickets.

Chasing 141 runs to win Assam performed well with the bat and needed just 30 overs to reach the target losing three wickets. Riyan Parag (57) scored an unbeaten half century and Abhisekh Thakuri (31) was giving him support when the match came to an end.

Earlier elected to bat, Meghalaya were bowled out 140 in 42.5 overs. Mukhtar Hussain, Bishal Roy and Mrinmoy Dutta picked up two wickets each in the game. Kush Agarwal (26) and Joydeep (24) were the major contributors in Meghalaya's innings.

At the Nehru stadium, Nagaland thrashed Sikkim by 8 wickets. Sikkim bowled out 151 runs in 47.1 overs. Rahul Kumar (47) fought as lone battler for Sikkim while Tamsulong 3-16. In reply Nagaland scored the winning run in 30.4 overs losing 2 wickets. Opener Shamphri (95) narrowly missed the three-figure score.

Meanwhile at Amingaon Manipur won by 26 runs against Arunachal Pradesh. Elected to bat, Manipur scored 240-6 in 50 overs. Guniram (42) and Kishan (40) played well in Manipur's innings. Although two batsmen of Arunachal Pradesh-Subham (57), MI Khan (51no) scored half centuries and T Sania contributed 42 in the innings but those were not enough to take Arunachal Pradesh to home.
