Amit Sinha to Lead Assam in Ranji Trophy Opener

GUWAHATI: Middle-order batsman Amit Sinha named the captain of Assam team for the forthcoming Ranji trophy tie against Jharkhand. The match will be held at Ranchi from November 1.

Assam Cricket Association on Friday announced 15-member squad for the first game of the season. Among the notable figure missing from the list is pacer Abu Nechim Ahmed. The team will leave for Ranchi on October 29.

The squad: Amit Sinha (captain), Pallav Kumar Das, Rishav Das, Riyan Parag, Sib Sankar Roy, Gakul Sarma, Kunal Saikia, Wasiqur Rahman, Romario Sarma, Arup Das, Mrinmoy Dutta, Muktar Hussain, Rahul Singh, Jitumoni Kalita and Ranjit Mali.
