GUWAHATI: Assam Olympic Association and different sports associations jointly felicitated newly elected Vice President of the Athletic Federation of India Lakhya Konwar here today. The function was held at the RG Baruah Sports complex this evening.
The felicitation function was attended by Law and GDD Minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya, MP Queen Oja, former international athlete Tayabun Nessa, veteran sports journalist and sports organizer Premadhar Sarma, Ritu Baran Sarmah, the vice chairman of AMTRON and Sports Commissioner Moloy Bora. All the dignitaries also addressed the gathering where they expressed hope that State athletics will reach new height under the supervision of Konwar, who is also the General Secretary of the Assam Olympic Association and President of the Assam Athletics Association.
