Army unit of Gossaigaon organises friendly football match

Gossaigaon: As part of the Indian Army’s endeavour to promote good health, comradeship and spirit of friendly competition, the Army unit of Gossaigaon under the aegis of Red horn division organised a friendly football match yesterday evening. The match was played against Gossaigaon Football Club at Gossaigaon Nehru stadium which witnessed a huge turnout by enthusiastic public. Hemandranath Brahma, President All Assam Football Association, was chief guest of the event. A light tea arrangement followed the presentation ceremony. The locals applauded the Army unit for its initiative in reaching out to the youth. The overwhelming response from civil teams is a testimony of increasing bonhomie and faith in Army by the locals. Such activities are intended to enhance a sense of achievement, national pride and patriotism in the youth of today, Brahma said.
