ASEBSC, Bodousa storm into semis of Bordoloi Trophy

GUWAHATI: ASEBSC and Bodousa SC completed the semifinal line-up of the 67th Bordoloi Trophy Football Championship on Tuesday.

In their last group league match at the Judges Field here today, ASEBSC booked their semi final berth defeating Daimalu Club of Udalguri 4-2. However, Bodusa SC moved into the semi final after OILFC defeated Assam Police Blues at Morigaon by 2-0 today. After this game both Assam Police Blues and Bodousa SC (4 points) although collected the same number of points but it was goal difference that helped the Upper Assam outfit to move into the next round of the competition.

ASEBSC today needed just a draw to qualify for the last-four stage. However they left the ground with a convincing 4-2 win. D Boro opened the account for the winner and he also scored another goal in the 79th minutes. ManjitRabha and J Brahma scored the other goals for them. DipjyotiBaglari and NaseebSorin, both came as substitute, scored for Daimalu.

With this victory ASEBSC finished top in the points table with 7 points. Gauhati Town Club, 5 points, also qualified for the semi final from this group.

Meanwhile at Morigaon OILFC defeated Assam Police Blues by 2-0 in a group "B" encounter. Tulya Das and MintuBoro scored in the game. OILFC (9 points) and Bodousa SC (4 points) will now play into the semi finals from this group.

Both the semi finals are slated for March 18 at the Judges field in the city.

Schedule: March 18- 1st semi final: ASEBSC vsBodousa SC (3 PM). Second Semi final: OILFC vsGauhati Town Club (5 PM).
