ASEBSC start with a big win in Dr T Ao Invitational Football tournament at Sonapur

GUWAHATI: ASEBSC made a winning start in the Dr T Ao Invitational Football tournament defeating LNIPE 5-1 at LNIPE Complex, Tapesia, Sonapur today. Mintu Mech and Nicodin Narzary scored twice and Jigyas Deka was the other scorer for the winning outfit. Siddartha reduced one for LNIPE. In the other game of the day OILFC shared points with BTR, Kokrajhar at the same venue. Altogether four teams are participating in the championship which final is slated for March 4.

Earlier the tournament was inaugurated by Gitartha Goswami, Member Secretary of the SLAC in presence of Aakash Phukan, vice chairman of Board of Sports, Assam. The inaugural function was also attended by sports organizers Balendra Mohan Chakravarty, Aftab Hussain, former Director of SAI, Guwahati Subhash Basumatary, secretary of the Gauhati Sports Association Dhrubajyoti Kalita, Dean of LNIPE Sankar Basumatary and the president of Dr T Ao Centenary Celebration Committee Swapnanil Barua.
