Assam boxer Lovlina Borgohain Wins Gold In Elite Boxing

Guwahati: Assam boxer Lovlina Borgohain won gold while two other State boxers Pwilao Basumatary and Bhagyabati Kachari settled for silver in the 3rd Elite Women’s National Boxing Championships which concluded at Vijayanagara today.

Lovlina, who recently won a bronze medal in the World Boxing championship, defeated Puja of Railways 5-0 in the 69kg category. Pwilao Basumatary and Bhagyabati Kachari participated in the competition for Indian Railways. Pwilao lost to Simranjit Kaur 0-5 in the 64kg category. Bhagyabati, took part in 81kg category, too lost her final bout 0-5 against Puja Rani of Haryana.
