Assam Clinch Last Ball Victory Over Chattishgarh In T20 Cricket Championship

GUWAHATI: Two responsible knocks from captain Amit Sinha and Sib Sankar Roy along with a cameo inning from Rajjakuddin guided Assam to five wickets victory over Chattishgarh in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Cricket Championship tie held at Cuttack today. Both Sib Sankar and Amit scored quick half centuries in the match while Rajjak played an unbeaten knock of 35 from 16 deliveries. Rode on those innings Assam today reached the target in the very last ball of the match.
Chasing 195 runs to win Assam lost a few wickets very early stage of the innings which put huge pressure on the team. Once they were 11-3. Opener Rishav Das and Pallav Das got out on their individual score 4 and one respectively. They were quickly followed by Riyan Parag (4). But once Amit joined with Sib Sankar on the middle of the wicket the things started to become normal.
The duo on the fourth wicket added 67 runs from 52 balls which built the foundation of the victory. The remaining job was finished by Amit Sinha and Rajjakuddin. Sib Sankar today played 35balls to score 52 runs and he hit six fours and two sixes. On the other hand Amit remained not out on 77. He faced 55 balls and there were seven boundaries and four over boundaries in his innings. Rajjakuddin remained not out on 35 runs and he took just 18 balls to score those runs with the help of two boundaries and three number of sixes.
Earlier Chattishgarh piled up 194-2 in their 20 overs. Harpreet Singh Bhatia remained not out on 92. Shashank Chandrakar (56) also scored half century.
