Assam Fire & Rescue Games Tournament Held at Nagaon Police Reserve

NAGAON: With a motto to spread better public awareness and to increase the skills as well as the brisk preparations of fire police personnel in emergency period, Nagaon fire police unit on Sunday conducted a special competition among the fire personnel at Nagaon Police Reserve field.

ADGP and Director, Assam Police Fire Organization Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta inaugurated formally the competition “Assam Fire and Rescue games”.

In his inaugural speech said that conducting such competition on emergency services or exercises would automatically increase the level of the self confidence of the fire personnel of the state and also helped them to increase the skills of the firemen. He however said that it would also carry better public awareness for brisk preparations during emergency period. The Deputy Commissioner of the district, Biswajit Pegu, Superintendent of Police, Shankarbrata Raimedhi and other dignitaries of Nagaon police were present in the inaugural function.

Earlier Nagaon police paid guard of honour to the Additional Director General of Police and Director of Assam Police Fire Organization, Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta at the Police Reserve field. Fire personnel of four neighbouring districts like Nagaon, Morigaon, East and West Karbianglong districts participated in the entire event.
